Bellperre, creator of "timeless luxury phones", announced its new handset line-up, targeted for customers who want a custom-made phone that can easily stand out. Every Bellperre device is handcrafted with care, at exceptional standards, this approach ensuring an outstanding functionality and an exclusive look. Every phone can be customized in any way you like: any leather color, any engravement, any combination of exquisite materials, so those who want to be unique have high chances to find a perfect phone at Bellperre.

With a design somehow close to the way Sony Ericsson designs its candybars, a "standard" Bellperre handset weighs 120 grams and measures 100 x 44 x 16 millimeters. The phone's case is made of aluminum, titanium and steel, its screen is made from "unscratchable" sapphire crystal, while its buttons are carved out of solid metal. The handset is dressed in crocodile leather, available in more than 200 colors.

In terms of technical details, the Bellperre handset is a tri-band GSM device that works on the 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz frequencies. It runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 and comes with a 2 inch display with a 176 x 220 pixel resolution, stereo Bluetooth with A2DP, MP3 player, Video player, mini USB, Java, Email Alerts, MSN Messenger, PC Outlook synchronization, hands free calling and a 1.3 Megapixel camera with video recording. These are not features that would make a normal phone to be considered outstanding, not by far, but the Bellperre handsets are firstly fashion phones, and there will surely be many users who will buy them for their look and expensiveness, not for their their features.

The new Bellperre phones will be commercially available starting June 2008, probably first in Europe then in the US and the rest of the world. There's no word yet about a price, but don't expect it to be less than ten thousand US dollars.
