The first thing that crossed everybody's mind when hearing about a Mortal Kombat game featuring superheroes like Batman or Superman was "No way, man!". Of course, after a few more days, most of the people started to think that it could actually work and, even more, that it might be a really good idea. However, there are still some people who think that Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is a bad idea. For them and their PS2 consoles only, Midway is preparing Mortal Kombat Kollection.

As the name suggests, we're talking here about a special collector's edition featuring three of the most recent Mortal Kombat releases for the PlayStation 2: Mortal Kombat: Deception, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, and Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks. This means that, if you are a true fan of the franchise, this box is a must have since it features more punches than ever. It will be released in September for $29.99. Even though we would've loved to hear that there are also hidden goodies coming with the box, it seems that the three games are all we're going to get. For such a price, it's enough, though!

"Mortal Kombat has been a pinnacle fighting franchise for well over a decade now and this is an ideal package for fans and collectors in terms of content and price point," said Mona Hamilton, vice president of marketing, Midway Home Entertainment. "With the PlayStation 2 still holding the highest market share of any home console, we saw this as the perfect opportunity to offer an incredible value to our consumers as we ramp up for the highly anticipated launch of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe."

Yes, it seems that Midway is actually trying to get as much money as possible out of its franchise before releasing the true next gen game of them all this holiday season. We're waiting.
