Activision, the publisher behind the Hero branded series of music based titles, has announced that DJ Hero 2, its turntable powered disk jockeying experience, is getting a new wave of content based upon the work of well-known contemporary artists, expanding the array of experiences the game can offer.

Fans of the game can now pick up two new exiting tracks as part of the Hard Edge Mix Pack, which includes:

[admark=1]Pixies - “Debaser” mixed with The Prodigy - “Invaders Must Die” Beastie Boys - “Body Movin'” mixed with Lenny Kravitz - “Rock And Roll Is Dead”

On December 14 players will be able to get the Old Skool Mix Pack:

Fat Boys - “Human Beat Box” mixed with Mantronix - “King of the Beats” Tag Team - “Whoomp! (There It Is)” mixed with 45 King - “The 900 Number” Beastie Boys - “Triple Trouble” mixed with Tone-Loc - “Funky Cold Medina”

On December 21, just in time to get into the Christmas spirit, fans will be able to download the aptly titled Linkin Park Mix Pack:

Linkin Park - “The Catalyst (Does It Offend You, Yeah? Remix)” created by FSG Linkin Park - “When They Come For Me” (Diplo Remix) Linkin Park - “Pts.of.Athrty” remixed by FSG

All the content can be downloaded from the Xbox Marketplace and the PlayStation Network.

The Hard Edge DLC will be sold for 460 Microsoft Points and 5.99 dollars, while the other two packages can be bought for 640 Microsoft Points or for 7.99 dollars.

Despite the rather lackluster initial sales of DJ Hero 2 Activision seems to be determined to over full support for the game post launch, delivering the kind of interesting content that could persuade gamers interested in music to pick up the game before the end of the year and increase the revenue it generates.
