Electronic Arts is a big publisher in the gaming industry, owning a lot of studios where talented teams are working with many famous brands for the large corporation. An example of such a thing is DICE, which is working almost exclusively with the Battlefield brand.

One of the upcoming results of the Scandinavian studio will be Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which is the sequel to the critically acclaimed original that combined stunning graphics and destroyable environments with tongue-in-cheek humor and parodies of other famous video games.

The sequel, which was announced a few months ago, has now received a concrete release date from EA and the platform list on which it will be making an appearance. As opposed to the first one, which was exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, PC gamers will also get a chance to enter the Bad Company on March 2 in North America and March 5 in Europe, 2010.

The game aims to deliver a new level of destruction to the scenarios in the title, a better vehicular warfare section and a great squad play mechanic, which will be heavily used through the single and multiplayer modes.

“The variety of weapons, choice of vehicles and scale of destruction in the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 sandbox environment generates countless unscripted and unforgettable moments,” said Karl Magnus Troedsson, executive producer, Battlefield Franchise, DICE. “When Battlefield: Bad Company 2 ships in March, it will deliver the best online multiplayer experience ever.”

The last sentence is quite important as the team at DICE aims at defeating Modern Warfare 2 in terms of multiplayer by giving players the chance to maneuver over 15 authentically modeled vehicles in combat as well as the possibility to wield over 46 fully customizable weapons.

The new and improved Frostbite engine will be put to good use, especially its Destruction 2.0 component, as players can choose either to carefully erode the cover of an enemy, or just blow up the building in which he and his squad are hiding.

Overall, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is looking extremely good and will be on the must-buy list of many gamers in March.
