The developers at Rocksteady that are working on the upcoming Batman: Arkham City video game held a panel at Comic Con and announced that the Dark Knight will be able to go through a number of missions in the game alongside Bane, who is known in the comic book world as the man who broke the Bat (literally).

It seems that the Bane missions will involve tracking down a number of chemical contraband shipments that are apparently interesting to both characters and will probably lead to some sort of conflict after the brief collaboration.

In the comic books, Bane has always been portrayed as a sort of gray character, one of the toughest enemies that Batman can face but also someone that can understand the difference between good and evil and act upon it.

The Comic Con panel about Batman: Arkham City has also revealed that the Catwoman portion of the game will be about four hours long, although the developers offered no information on the length of the Bane content.

The developers at Rocksteady seem to be determined to use as many important characters from the Batman universe as possible in the game.

Until now, The Penguin and Talia al Ghul have also been revealed as appearing in the game, although it's not yet clear how the Dark Knight will interact with them.

More character announcements will probably happen before the launch date for the game.

The developers have also revealed the existence of something called the Remote Electrical Charge for Batman, which can disable armored enemies and can make it easier to deal with the enemies who are armed with machineguns.

Batman: Arkham City will be launched on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PC and will be available on October 18 in the United States and three days later in Europe.

A Wii U version is also being planned.
