The development team at Rocksteady, publisher Warner Bros. and the team at retailers GAME and GameStop are delivering a short teaser trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight, which is designed to show how the Red Hood character will interact with the world of the title.

There are only 30 seconds of footage offered and very little gameplay is included, but for fans of the franchise, the fact that yet another character is included will be a powerful incentive to place a pre-order for the video game.

The fact that gamers need to work with either GAME or GameStop in order to get access to Red Hood will be a problem with the community, but it's very likely that the same content will be offered later for all Batman: Arkham Knight gamers who are interested in a price.

The development team has not said exactly what kind of missions players will be able to execute with the new character or if his gameplay will be very different from that of The Dark Knight.

Gamers who get access to the Season Pass for Batman: Arkham Knight will also be able to download and play a prequel for the title which features Batgirl.

There are also more costumes and other challenge missions included.

Batman: Arkham Knight is the final title in the series that Rocksteady is working on

The developers have managed to impress with the first two titles in the series, but the third one, handled by the Montreal studio, failed to get the same critical acclaim.

The studio has returned for this final installment in the current continuity, aiming to deliver a game that fans will praise for the story and the mechanics.

The new video game will be launched on the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One on June 23.

Warner Bros. says that it will be the most expansive and complex title in the series, with players able to see more of Gotham and interact with it in new ways thanks to the expanded list of gadgets and the fact that the Batmobile is included.

Batman: Arkham Knight has a new villain that gamers will have to deal with, alongside the traditional line-up that features Scarecrow and Harley Quinn.

The development team has worked directly with DC Comics to make sure that the Arkham Knight is a direct challenger to Batman.
