14 DAY TRIAL // The development team at Rocksteady is using a new Spotlight series to offer more details about the core mechanics of the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight, with the most recent installment focusing on the Disruptor, which made its first appearance in a new trailer for the title.
The new gadget has been created in order to give The Dark Knight more ways to control a combat situation when his physical capabilities alone are no longer enough.
The Disruptor can be used three times during each engagement and can be used to detonate enemy weapons, although this costs two of its charges, to electrify weapon crates so that they shock enemies and to tag enemy vehicles with trackers so that they can be followed by the Batmobile.
A scope also means Batman has a way to survey the scene before he enters combat, creating a plan for victory.
The official forum post explains that tactical flexibility is very important for players and the new gadgets can be used to enhance the play style of those who buy Batman: Arkham Knight.
Upgrades are also offered for the Disruptor, allowing players to get more charges or to hack into the turrets of the drone tanks that he will have to face in combat.
Rocksteady says that it will focus on the Batwing in the next Spotlight article.
