Director Joss Whedon shattered all hope for fans waiting for a post-credits scene with “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” saying that the shawarma scene at the end of the first “Avengers” movie was a one-time thing. Now, a video purported to be the post-credits scene from “Ultron” has started making the rounds online.

The fans are terribly conflicted: on one hand, they have Whedon’s word that there will be no post-credits scene, which will go against a tradition with all recent Marvel superhero movies. Plus, didn’t Jason Momoa swear repeatedly that he wasn’t up to play Aquaman in Justice League? Didn’t Paul Rudd promise he wasn’t playing Ant-Man?

Yes, people in Hollywood tend to lie. A lot.

On the other hand, the fans want this video to be real because it would confirm an older rumor that Spider-Man will finally be joining, in one way or another, the Marvel cinematic universe.

Sony Pictures gave the Spider-Man franchise over to Marvel last year, thus pulling the plug on the “Amazing Spider-Man” series of films with Andrew Garfield. He was supposed to do one more film, but he can forget about it now: Marvel is starting from scratch on the franchise.

If this video is real, it stands as proof that this will happen very soon. It probably isn’t, though. What do you think?
