The popularity enjoyed by Apple's iPad is likely to increase even further on the future, its range of possible uses spreading out, as it's practically limited only by one's imagination, the laws of physics and the set of available apps. Given this state of things, it should come as no surprise that, at some point on the future, we'll be seeing these things used for all sorts of purposes and by all sorts of people, including some who require a lot of distributive attention, while sitting down. And specifically for this category of users (as narrow as it might be, at least for now), the people over at NewSkyProducts have come up with the AppStation, a solution that lets users securely attach the iPad to their knees. According to the manufacturer, this accessory is capable of “optimizing” the iPad's functionality, while in the same time protecting Apple's tablet against scratches, since it's manufactured from a high-performance polycarbonate material. Moreover, its ergonomic "comfort curve" provides a stable platform while conducting work or play on the device manufactured by the company from Cupertino. The device works with all iPad models and provides built-in storage for a Mini Mag Lite, iPad stylus and a pen/pencil, while its slim design fits easily in one's flight bag or briefcase. As for the range of uses, the company claims that the targeted segments are quite numerous and diverse, since we're talking about aviation, point of sale, medical environment, office environment, transportation (cab driver, delivery truck, truck driver, etc.), student, commuter, military or marine. The AppStation sells for around 70 US dollars, which is a rather high price to pay if you don't actually need this thing, but it's fairly OK, if you happen to fit one of the categories mentioned above and really require its “services”.
