The phone was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show

Leading provider of digital home solutions, Asus, has introduced a cordless USB Internet phone that comes with Skype support, the AirGuru S2.

The phone offers support for Skype software, as well as Windows Vista SideShow that allows users to access their e-mail information on their PC, Apple iTunes and Windows Media Player for wireless music.

Manufactured to include Asus' three design concepts, the phone comes with style, ease of use and seamless integration with PC applications. The user will not encounter any difficulties when using the AiGuru S2 because of its simplified menu structure and user-friendly interface.

Apart from the Skype features the phone includes, users can also manage their personal information and contact lists, and will be able to see the callers' photos or avatars and Skype ID. According to Asus, the AiGuru S2 was designed to offer an enhanced communication experience.

Convenient for both office and home use, the phone also comes equipped with a high quality speaker and five EQ voice modes that support audio streaming via PC through WiFi technology. The phone is slim and features a color display as well as a backlit keypad, measures 116 x 47 x 12.3 mm and weighs 72 grams. It will last up to 3 hours of talk time and 25 hours on standby mode. Access to broadband Internet is required in order to use the phone.

The new Asus AiGuru S2 will be available during the first quarter of 2007. There is no information so far on what price tag the handset will have.
