The first time you saw the Asus Z801 there was no info whatsoever regarding the features of the phone, aside from the fact that it includes a camera and that it looks good. But to prove that when it comes to interesting phones, it doesn't take a long time for new info to hit the surface, Asus have decided to unveil the Z801, with a clamshell design, Sapphire Quartz mirrored surface and keys resembling a chess-board.

Asus' new mobile phone features a 2 megapixel camera with white balance and video capabilities, 260k color QVGA display, an Mp3 player, a dictaphone function and Bluetooth with A2DP support for a wire-free experience. It also includes QR (Quick Response) Code support that allows the user to store addresses and data provided by a large number of magazines and advertisements in Japan.

Leaving all those features aside, that we have come across so many times before, what makes the Asus Z801 special is the Karaoke feature. So all the music fans out there will not only be able to listen to their favorite music on this cell phone, but also sing along and record lyrics.

While you're singing along, the phone will interpret what you are saying and transform it into text, after which it will display the words when the song is being played.

Although displaying the lyrics without the singing or help of the user might have been a better idea, having to record the lyrics might prove to be just as fun as singing along with 'pre-installed' lyrics.

Apparently, the Z801 will initially be sold on the Chinese market only. But that doesn't necessarily mean that it won't be released in other parts of the world as well.
