Ubisoft has just revealed some more details about Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, the upcoming action-adventure title, including more information about its protagonists, its features, and the fact that it arrives from its Quebec studio, which is working with eight more regional divisions.

Assassin's Creed: Syndicate was finally revealed earlier today, after quite a lot of different rumors and a teaser campaign from Ubisoft, as the studio brought forth not just a cinematic reveal trailer but also an intense gameplay demonstration from a pre-alpha version.

Lots of in-depth details are available

Now, the studio confirms in a new statement some more in-depth information about Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, including the fact that it takes place in London, on 1868, during the Industrial Revolution. While the main protagonist will be Jacob Frye, players will also be able to control his twin sister, Evie, although it's unclear if she'll be available at certain moments or throughout the story campaign.

"As gangster assassin Jacob Frye, you will recruit your gang to fight for justice on behalf of the oppressed working class. Lead the underworld to take back London in a visceral adventure filled with action, intrigue and brutal combat. Also play as Jacob’s twin sister Evie, a relentless Assassin who has perfected the silent, swift, invisible strike," the studio adds.

New weapons, mechanics, and a big open world are promised

Besides the new main characters, Ubisoft mentions that Syndicate features a fresh arsenal of weapons for Jacob and Evie, including a kukri knife, brass knuckles, and a custom sword cane. Combat will be more brutal, while the fresh rope launcher allows players to quickly scale buildings, take enemies by surprise, or zipline across the rooftops.

The open world includes a variety of London hallmarks, such as Buckingham Palace or Big Ben, while featuring high-speed trains and carriages. The main focus is on recruiting different gangs throughout the city, wrangling control from the Templars.

Besides sharing a few screenshots, which you can admire below, the publisher also confirms that Syndicate is set to arrive from main developer Ubisoft Quebec, which is working with either other regional teams.

Assassin's Creed: Syndicate is due out on October 23 for PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version is expected to appear at a later point in time.
