The conversations which involved characters for hours at a time will be gone from the next installment of the Assassin’s Creed series, according to the development team of the new Assassin's Creed title.

Alex Hutchinson, who is the creative director working on Assassin’s Creed III, spoke to Ausgamers and stated, “The biggest additions have been to allow crowd member to be attracted to areas or interactions, and then to leave those and begin another action in sequence. No longer will you be able to watch people stay in a conversation for hours. Eventually they’ll go on their way.”

Fans have debated at length whether it is a good idea or not for the series to leave cities and use forests as another major setting, but the development team believes that a lot of mechanics will be similar.

The developer added, “Players can obviously hunt the animals, but we really want people to immerse themselves in the tracking and trapping elements of interacting with animals. We want people to see some species just by navigating the world, but many others will require the player to use tactics and strategy to find and kill them. In a sense, we want players to assassinate animals more than just shoot them.”

It seems that a number of choices will open up in Assassin’s Creed III based on the favored gameplay mechanics of each gamers.

Hutchinson talked about a hunting club who might approach main character Connor after witnessing his proficiency for hunting with a bow and might invite him to explore an area of the map that was previously inaccessible.

This will provide both variety and an incentive for gamers to get through the game more than once.

Assassin’s Creed III will be launched on the PC, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 in October and a Nintendo Wii U version is also under development.
