The second free DLC for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the Animus Project Update 2.0, is now available for download on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is among the most successful hardcore games released by Ubisoft at the end of last year, managing to become the fastest selling title in its history.

Now, after the title received its first downloadable content pack in the form of the Animus Project Update 1.0, the second one has been deployed for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

The Animus Project Update 2.0 packs an all-new multiplayer mode, a map, as well as a leaderboard system.

First off, we have the Chest Capture mode, which will join the existing multiplayer ones, and aims at making players work together as two teams and either capture of defend chests in front of their enemies.

Players will be able to play this mode, as well as the other multiplayer ones, on a brand new map called the Pienza, which "provides the perfect free-running playground where predators and targets can blend and disappear."

A new leaderboard system was also put in place, called the Templar Grade.

"To achieve order and maintain competition, Abstergo created the Templar Grade," Ubisoft says. "Updated weekly and based on the users scores of the previous four weeks, the Templar Grade splits recruits in 10 specific slices - each representing part of the hierarchy of the community. The goal is to reward diligent work by Abstergo recruits."

The first free DLC for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the 1.0 Update, brought the Advanced Alliance mode, as well as a new map called Mont Saint-Michel.

Players were also able to unlock the Rome by Night map through their multiplayer proficiency, while European uPlay members got a special mission, the Trajan Market, unlocked for free earlier this year.
