Financial trouble for Ubisoft?

That time of the year when companies analyze their progress throughout the year, and take a look at their earnings and financial reports? Ubisoft has done just that as they have made public their financial report for this year.

Looks like things aren't going that smooth for the publisher/developer as their financial results were not what they had hoped for. Ubisoft sales in the first quarter of the year were by 13%, climbing from EUR 153 million up to EUR 172 million. The second quarter of the year was not so good for the company as their sales went down 7%, from EUR 110 million down to EUR 102 million.

Due to low financial results, Ubisoft announced that they plan to postpone the release of Assassin's Creed and Brother In Arms Hell's Highway until the 2007-2008 fiscal year. To be more exact, that means anywhere from April 2007 to March 2008.

Nevertheless, there is still some good news as Ubisoft representatives announced that Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 is in development and that it will be released in the fourth quarter of 2007.

Earlier this month, the Assassin's Creed official website had in its hub page the Xbox and PlayStation logos. Anyone with half a brain would have thought that those logos meant that Assassin's Creed will have PS2 and Xbox support. Nope. Ubisoft representatives hurried in denying that and they were very specific in stating that Assassin's Creed will come out only on PS3 and Xbox 360. Sure...but when?
