Bridgepoint Education, a well-known company that delivers education services in various disciplines such as business, psychology, social sciences and health sciences, has just announced the availability of two Android apps: Ashford University Mobile and Rockies Mobile.

Both Android versions of Ashford Mobile and Rockies Mobile classroom apps provide users with an extensive online educational interface.

The applications are aimed at students and teachers, as they offer essential campus information for those who own Android devices.

Ashford Mobile and Rockies Mobile have been developed to provide in-depth integration with the Ashford University and University of the Rockies' online learning environments.

Given the fact that both schools are Bridgepoint Education academic institutions, the Android applications have been developed in-house.

I'm very proud of the way our product development team and the Learning Resources and Publishing department focused themselves to deliver the Android apps to our students. Student satisfaction is a high priority for us,” said Dana LaFleur, Bridgepoint's director of learning architecture.

Basically, students and teachers using Android smartphones will be able to read and respond to discussions, receive announcements and alerts, read University news, contact advisors, and much more.

Other features of the apps include:

- Connect to courses in the online learning environment; - Post to discussion threads, and reply to your fellow students' posts; - Students can send messages to your instructor by email or by discussion post; - Students can find fast contact info for your Enrollment, Academic, and Financial Service Advisors; - Faculty can find fast contact info for your Academic team; - Receive up-to-the minute News and Events updates; - View past, current and future courses.

According to Bridgepoint Education, the apps have been thoroughly tested with a large number of Android-powered devices to ensure the apps' stability.

Both student and faculty-specific Android-based apps are available as free downloads from Android Market and are compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 or newer.
