Sony Ericsson has released a new phone with a great amount of personality at NTT DoCoMo. Not only is the SO703i model available in a great amount of case variations, but it also has one very rare feature: it has special fragrances.

Motorola has also thought of putting the sense of smell in a phone model. Sony Ericsson found this to be a concept with very high potential, so it developed the idea into a new phone model.

Such a handset has the tendency of being highly personalized. The user can choose the colors that the case will come in, the special design and also the special fragrance. All these possibilities make one Sony Ericsson SO703i be considerably different from any other. The only thing which they all have in common are the specifications.

The fact that Sony Ericsson SO703i can be so easily personalized makes its performances less important and adds a greater value to finding the right combination between design and fragrance. There are 11 aromas to choose from and a large number of different cases. Sony Ericsson SO703i has a Style-Up panel with aroma, which releases the chosen aroma.

The phone's specifications are also worthy of mention, as they are quite impressive too. Sony Ericsson SO703i comes equipped with a 2 megapixel camera capable of providing images of reasonably high quality. They will display beautifully on the 2.7 inch WQVGA screen which is capable of supporting a resolution of 240 x 432 pixels. It turns out to be quite impressive to find such a large display on a clamshell phone model. Moreover, this handset has also a secondary VGA camera designed for best video conferencing performances.

Unfortunately, Sony Ericsson SO703i will be available only in Japan from now on at NTT DoCoMo. An estimate price that this handset will come at has not been revealed yet.
