After Antec served its own speaker system, Arctic Sound is now following up with not just one, but a whole set of four sound solutions, all part of the S series of speaker systems.

It appears that the sound solutions market is growing at a more or less equally rapid pace as that of video and display solutions, if not faster.

While new monitors and video cards come out periodically, developers of headphones and speaker systems are just as eager to update their product lines.

This once, Arctic Sound figured it would bring out four sets of speakers, the so-called S family.

The apparently highest up in terms of performance is the S362, which has a pair of 12W satellites in addition to a subwoofer capable of 50W and equipped with a 144mm high fidelity membrane.

It also has a two-year warranty and a price tag of $109.90 (84.50 Euro), including VAT.

The second greatest can be said to be the S361, which has two 18W speakers and a 40W subwoofer, plus a remote control pod and a price of $99 (77 Euro).

Thirdly, there is the S161, which has an 11W subwoofer and two 3.5W circular satellites with built-in blue LED lights. It costs $37.90, the equivalent of 29.15 Euro.

Finally, there is the Arctic Sound S151, which is both the cheapest and the most modest of the lot.

It has a pair of 3.5W satellite speakers and a subwoofer with a power of 10W, plus a more or less common outer design with a mostly dark grey/black color theme. It sells for $29.90, or 23 Euro.

All of the newcomers boast the obligatory built-in volume control and bass control, so that owners may choose which sounds to amplify depending on what they are doing, whether it is watching movies, listening to music, playing a game or having an online conversation.

Arctic Sound intends for its S series to be used with not just personal computers (PCs), but also with DVD players, Blu-ray players and TVs.
