With the new, more advanced, camera included in the iPhone 4S it was just a matter of time until accessory makers would start releasing new gadgets to help you take better and sharper photos using Apple's latest smartphone, and one of the first such devices to arrive is the Belkin LiveAction Camera Grip.

Just as its name implies, this grip was developed in order to help users fit the iPhone 4S better in their hand so it comes built out of a special soft touch material.

In order to fit the grip to the iPhone 4S, one has to plug it into the charger connector of the phone (it also works with the iPod Touch) and pictures are taken by pressing an external shutter button. Furthermore, the Belkin grip also comes with an integrated tripod mount.

Once captured, images are imported into the LiveAction app that features an intuitive on-screen interface to upload photos and videos directly onto Facebook or into an email without having to open another program.

The app also allows you to capture still photos while simultaneously recording video of the same content.

“With upgraded cameras, new phones like the iPhone 4S take great pictures and are beginning to replace traditional cameras because they provide instant gratification—the ability to shoot and share via social media instantly,” said Jamie Elgie, senior director of Belkin’s mobility division.

“Our new LiveAction Camera App and products enable that spontaneity, but also provide an enhanced camera experience that feels more like that of a traditional point-and-shoot camera.

“It’s the best of both worlds,” concluded the company'r rep in the press statement issues by Belkin.

The Belkin LiveAction App is free and available for download now at the Apple App Store, while the LiveAction Cameral Grip can be purchased from Amazon.com, where it retails for $49.99 (roughly 37 EUR).
