New "Get a Mac" ads simply say Happy Holidays

With Christmas approaching, Apple has added a new look to its website. Featuring animated versions of our beloved Mac and PC characters from Apple's Get a Mac campaign, the company no longer presses the audience to consider buying a Mac, this time around. Instead, the Mac maker just wishes everyone Happy Holidays.

Of course, this doesn't mean Mac and PC don't go about their usual routine, emphasizing the ongoing competition between Microsoft and Apple, Windows and Mac - the ads are still part of Apple's “Get a Mac” campaign. However, Mac now shows more wisdom than ever, by opening up to PC and admitting he is extremely happy about their friendship. While the Christmas spirit has obviously gotten to Mac, we can't say the same thing about PC, who has willingly arranged the tree lights so they'd read ”PC Rules.”

Naturally, Apple itself would be wise to get into the Christmas mood and slash a few figures off its products.

A bunny rabbit doesn't take the pressure off PC one bit, when it reveals it is off to the Apple store to get some last minute gifts. In fact, PC is so frustrated by this that he “accidentally” pushes a snowman's head over the helpless creature. Don't worry, no one gets hurt (except Windows fanatics watching the ad, perhaps).

The rest of Apple's website and featured sections have remained untouched by the Christmas spirit. The main Apple.com page still features Apple's introduction of “the world's greenest family of notebooks, the iPhone 2.2 Software Update banner, the promo for Apple's latest in iPod accessories, as well as the official introduction of iPhone 3G Gift cards. Visit Apple's website here for the changes.
