The popular Angry Birds title for Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 platform has just been updated with new levels and several design improvements.

Although the application is one of the most popular on platforms such as Android and iOS, Rovio, the company behind the Angry Birds franchise, decided to release a Windows Phone 7 version only recently.

However, given the fact that the first Windows Phone 7 version of the app was based on an earlier (1.4.2) iteration of the Android/iOS game, Angry Birds was missing around 105 levels.

While Android/iOS 1.6.1 had around 225 game levels, the Windows Phone 7 version based on the earlier app only had 135 levels.

Fortunately, the developer decided to update Angry Birds for Windows Phone 7 to version 1.1, which added 90 new levels, which were previously tagged as “Coming Soon.”

Added as Episodes 10 and 11, the new levels comprise the “Ham 'em High” or section 5 in the game.

Rovio also thought to improve the design of the application a bit, so gamers should now enjoy the game even more.

Among the most popular mobile games available on the market, Rovio's Angry Birds is known for its extremely high value for money, given the frequent updates made by the developer, which introduces new levels.

Those who are not yet hooked by the addictive game should try one of the free trials available for download for Android or iOS: “The survival of the angry birds is at stake. Dish out revenge on the green pigs who stole the birds' eggs. Use the unique destructive powers of the angry birds to lay waste to the pigs' fortified castles.”

Angry Birds 1.1 for Windows Phone 7 is now available for download from Marketplace for $2.99, which might be a bit pricey in comparison with the Android/iOS versions that cost only $0.99 each.
