Angelina Jolie is not only a beautiful and talented actress, but she can also hold her own with the likes of Sylvester Stallone or Bruce Willis when it comes to action movies, as a new poll shows.

The Mirror informs over 2,000 British men and women took part in a survey meant to establish which was their favorite and (according to them) best action hero of all times.

That turned out to be Sylvester Stallone who, now in his 60s, continues to make action films like he did when he was still a young Rambo – and proof of that is the recent box office hit “Expendables.”

However, one surprising appearance in the top 10 was that of Angelina Jolie, the actress of whom many skeptics one said she was too beautiful, delicate and slim to be carry an action film.

As the figures indicate, she is actually the only woman in the chart, ranking in at number 7 in the top 10 of favorite action heroes.

“Angelina only made it to number seven with two per cent of the vote, but she was the only woman in the top ten, which was headed by tough guy Stallone,” the Mirror says.

“The 64-year-old star of Rocky, Rambo and The Expendables scooped 31 per cent of the vote and beat Terminator star Schwarzenegger, who came second with 24 per cent,” the publication further notes.

Bruce Willis came in third (thanks to the “Die Hard” franchise) with 15 percent of the votes, while Bruce Lee landed on the fourth spot and Jean Claude Van Damme rounded up the top 5.

“Steven Seagal was voted into sixth place, while Chuck Norris, Will Smith and Jason Statham all finished behind Angelina in the poll, with less than one per cent of the vote each,” the Mirror goes on to say.

Proof that Angelina can carry an entire action film almost by herself is the recently released “Salt,” of which veteran film critic Roger Ebert said it “does all the things I can’t stand in bad movies, and does them in a good one,” calling it “a damn fine thriller.”

Further evidence of her action hero qualities will be offered once “The Tourist” is out, which sees her as the mystery woman weaving her mystery weave around Johnny Depp.

“The Tourist” is out in US theaters on December 10. The first official trailer for it came out earlier this month, as we also reported.
