A new mobile phone running under Google's Android operating system has been pushed out of Sony Ericsson's labs today, the Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman.

The latest addition to Sony Ericsson's family of Android devices comes with all of the features and capabilities that other devices include, and also adds a variety of music features into the mix.

The handset was announced with a dedicated Walkman hardware button through which users would receive fast access to the music player.

At the same time, the device will hit the shelves with a deep Facebook integration, and with an infinite button that enables users discover more. The Qriocity service from Sony was also loaded on this device.

The specifications list of this mobile phone includes a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, along with a fast and powerful 1Ghz application processor.

The handset also comes with a front-facing camera that enables video calling, as well as with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with auto-focus and 720p HD video recording capabilities. The handset features WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities, as well as FM radio with RDS, aGPS, DLNA, 3.5 mm audio jack, microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, and more.

The handset runs under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and offers support for services like Google Maps for Mobile, Google Calendar, Gmail, YouTube, Google Gallery 3D, Twitter, Skype, and more.

At the same time, the handset sports a series of specific features, including:

- Deep Facebook integration: Allows users to instantly access Facebook through the most used areas of the phone such as the picture gallery, music player, phonebook and calendar.

- Media Discovery Application: A dynamic application placing the world of music and videos at consumer’s fingertips including Facebook recommendations from their friends.

- Infinite button: Tapping it within the media player enables consumers to have instant access to new content about their favourite artist, such as music videos, artist information and lyrics search.

- Qriocity music and video content services from Sony: Consumers can access millions of songs from all major labels and watch thousands of movies from all major studios. Only Sony Ericsson Android smartphones provide consumers with unique access to the entertainment services from Sony.

- Sony’s xLOUD technology: Enhances audio output of the inbuilt speakers at high levels.

- TrackID: Identifies the music track you are listening to within the FM radio and music player. The track can then instantly be shared or downloaded. Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman is expected to become available for purchase in various markets around the world starting with the fourth quarter of the year.
