A new application is now available for handset running under Google's Android operating system in various markets in Europe, coming straight from Sony Digital Network Applications, Inc. (SDNA), namely “photo movie creator.”

The new application was released for a wider range of users in Europe today, and can be installed on handsets running under Android 2.1 Eclair and newer platform versions.

The new 'photo movie creator' is nothing more than a smartphone application that offers users the possibility to easily create movies in which photos are combined with themes and music.

Moreover, the new application will provide users with the ability to share these movies with their friends and family over social networking services or via e-mail.

The company made available for download two version of the application, one paid, with a price tag of 1.99EUR attached to it, and a free “photo movie creator Trial.”

The paid app 1.99GBP goes for GBP in the UK, where it was already available since April, for 15DKK in Denmark and 19SEK in Sweden, and can be purchased for the said price tag in Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain.

Some of the main features of this application include: - Easy photo movie creation - Create photo movies easily by selecting groups of photos (by date, event, or location), rather than picking them one by one. - Share with friends and family - Share your photo movies by e-mail or upload them to social networking services. - Select from a variety of movie templates (themes) - photo movie creator includes 18 movie templates offering a range of presentations. (Examples: Travel, Wedding, Sports) - Insert titles and change the background music - Easily insert photo movie titles and captions. Use music files on your smart-phone as background music. - Wide compatibility with smart-phone devices and operating systems (Android & iOS) - Photo movies created on Android devices can be played on iPhones and vice versa.

The company also notes that, users who receive a photo movie by email will need to have the 'photo movie creator' or 'photo movie creator Trial' installed to view it.

There are a few other limitations as well that users need to be aware of, such as the fact that the app supports only Facebook at the moment, or that movies with user's own music cannot be uploaded on the social networking site at the moment.

You can find the new “photo movie creator” and the “photo movie creator Trial” in the Android Market here and here, respectively.
