More Galaxy S4 users out there will soon get a taste of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system, as Japanese mobile phone carrier NTT DoCoMo is also getting ready for the launch of the update for its users.

According to the latest reports on the matter, the upgrade should arrive on Galaxy S4 (SC-04E) devices at this operator sometime in mid-December.

Apparently, the carrier is planning the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy Gear smartwatch in five new colors at that time, and it has already unveiled that Galaxy S4 will feature support for it, a post on Mobile Phone Watch unveils.

NTT DoCoMo has yet to officially confirm the release of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for its Galaxy S4 model, but all signs point to the aforementioned mid-December availability of the software upgrade.

For those out of the loop, we should note that support for Galaxy Gear is one of the main enhancements that the Android 4.3 refresh will bring to Samsung’s flagship smartphone.

As RBMen notes, other improvements will also be delivered to Galaxy S4 owners as part of this update, including better RAM management and TRIM support, which should result in better overall performance capabilities.

Furthermore, the new build will provide users with pre-installed Samsung Wallet, a new Samsung keyboard, new camera firmware, new Samsung browser, and a new reading mode.

Samsung KNOX support will also be included in the update, along with a series of updated Samsung apps, as it happened in other markets. At the same time, the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean upgrade will enhance the user interface of the smartphone, allowing users to enjoy improved TouchWiz performance.

Provided that the new report on the availability of this build of Galaxy S4 (SC-04E) pans out, an official confirmation from NTT DoCoMo should emerge in the not too distant future, so keep an eye on this space to learn specific details on it.
