One of the most controversial stories to capture the attention of the international media in the past couple of weeks is that of Kerry Campbell, the pageant mom who gives her 8-year-old daughter Botox shots. Anderson Cooper also weighs in on the controversy.

Using bitter sarcasm and irony, Cooper starts off his most recent RidicuList by saying that haters shouldn’t hate on “Botox mom” Kerry Campbell because she’s right in shooting her daughter up with what is, at the end of the day, legal poison for an adult cosmetic procedure.

As we also informed you at the time, Campbell went on the record saying that she only gave her daughter Botox because “all the other pageant moms were doing it.”

In other words, as Cooper says in the RidicuList, that makes it right – check out the video below.

He also goes to great lengths trying to make it clear that what Campbell calls “wrinkles” on her daughter face are actually dimples, pointing out that there was a time when any parent would have been proud to have such a cute child.

In the same RidicuList, Cooper explains that the side effects of Botox on adults can vary from drooping eyelids and inability to move the face or a part of it, to difficulty swallowing and headaches.

That is to say, getting Botox injections is a serious business – for adults, because its effect on children hasn’t even been analyzed.

To make an even stronger case, Cooper includes footage from Campbell and her daughter’s interview on Good Morning America, where the mom tried to defend herself.

It clearly shows that little Britney has no idea why she’s getting the injections, while also proving that “Botox mom’s” best excuse is that she’s doing what other mothers are also doing.

Obviously, said argument didn’t convince anyone, including authorities: after the story went international, Child Protection Services launched an investigation and removed Britney from Campbells care.
