A report from Baird Equity Research, a financial analysis firm based in the United States, states that two titles, the upcoming Call of Duty installment and the already confirmed Grand Theft Auto V, will account for one third of overall games sales for the coming fiscal year.

When it comes to actual copies moved to players, Baird Equity Research believes that the two video games will account for close to a quarter of the physical video games retail sales.

Colin Sebastian, who is watching the video game market for the company, believes that the domination of Call of Duty and GTA V means that Electronic Arts might have a problem in 2012.

He stated, “skeptical that EA will be able to show growth in its console segment.”

The publisher might also be affected by the evolutions in the social game market and that the uncertain nature of the Nintendo Wii U launch line-up.

Grand Theft Auto V was officially announced by Rockstar and Take Two during November of 2011 via a trailer after quite a long period of speculations and rumors.

The game seems to be moving back to a virtual representation of Los Angeles, but the development team has not offered any clear details on the experience or on how they plan to evolve the mechanics players have already experienced in Grand Theft Auto IV.

Publisher Activision Blizzard has already confirmed that it will be launching a new Call of Duty titles during the fall of the this year, although it has not announced which developer will create the game, although the obvious leading candidates are Treyarch.

The game has a good chance of becoming the best-selling video game of 2012, as Modern Warfare 3 has done for 2011 and Black Ops has been in 2010.

Rumors suggest that EA will unveil a new Medal of Honor game to be launched during this fall .
