Launched yesterday through Sprint, the HTC Evo Shift 4G is also available from Amazon.com for a much better price. While Sprint is offering the smartphone for $149.99 with a new 2-year contract, the online retailer is selling the device for just $119.99 with the same deal.

Based on the latest offers that Amazon.com has made available to its customers during the past weeks, we should expect more deals for smartphone users.

Even though Amazon.com is offering a much better price than Sprint, customers who want to buy the HTC Evo Shift 4G immediately are advised to pay $149.99 and sign for a 2-year contract, as the online retailer only ships the device in 8 to 9 days.

The Evo Shift 4G is a mid-tier Android smartphone and the third 4G smartphone offered by Sprint, after HTC Evo 4G and Samsung Epic 4G were launched last year.

HTC Evo Shift 4G is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7630 800 MHz processor and runs on the Android 2.2 Froyo platform.

The smartphone comes with a 3.6-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 65K colors and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

It measures 117 x 60 x 16 mm and weighs 130g (battery included), which makes it a well-balanced Android slider.

In addition to the full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the Evo Shift 4G features multi-touch input method, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, proximity sensor for auto turn-off, as well as the HTC Sense UI.

Other key features of the smartphone include: Rev. A connectivity up to 3.1 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, WiMAX 802.16 e (Wi-Fi router), Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, 3.5 mm audio jack, Stereo FM radio with RDS, GPS with A-GPS support and a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and camcorder (720p).

The device packs 512 MB RAM, 2048 MB ROM, as well as a microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB included).

HTC Evo Shift 4G can be purchased starting this week from Sprint for $399.99 without a plan or $149.99 after a $100 mail in rebate and a new 2-year contract.
