Owners of a handset running under Google's Android operating system have now the possibility to download and install on their devices a new, updated version of the Amazon MP3 application available in the Android Market.

With this mobile application, users will find it easy to either shop for music or to play the songs that are currently stored on their devices.

The app comes with access to both the Amazon MP3 store and the Amazon Cloud Player, though the latter is available only for US users (they can also play or download music stored in Amazon Cloud Drive).

The new application release, version v2.0.10, comes with features like:

- Automatic Downloads now won't download previous purchases, only new - Fixed bug causing skips in streamed music - Latest Purchases & Latest Uploads playlists updated to match Cloud Player for Web - Fixed instability with large download queues - Fixed lock-screen display on Honeycomb.

The application was updated on July 20th, weighs in at 1.6MB and can be downloaded and installed on all handsets that run under Android 1.6 or newer flavors of the platform.

One of the main enhancements that the new software release comes with is related to the issues that some users have experienced with large numbers of songs added to the download queue.

“This release includes fixes to prevent this from happening again. In addition, if you have more than 100 songs (not playlists, albums, or artists) from Cloud Player in your download queue, they will be removed the first time the new version runs. This will only happen once,” the app's description reads.

The mobile software will provide users with access to the over 15 million songs and over a million albums that are currently available in the Amazon MP3 store.

Users can choose to have the purchases downloaded to their devices, or they can save them on the Cloud Drive for free.
