Shows a focus on end-user experience

Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion is already known to plan enhancing the experience it can offer to its users through new devices and software solutions, and the latest news on the matter have brought to the display some screenshots claimed to show the upcoming BlackBerry OS 6.0. At a first look, one can easily see that RIM is moving a lot towards enhancing the end-user experience to making its OS less business-oriented than before, yet actual details on the matter lack at the moment.

The screenshots have emerged on the web on BBLeaks, which says that RIM seems to be moving in the right direction when the user experience is involved, but that what exactly the OS will deliver will only be unveiled when the first devices to sport it appear. Even so, one can easily spot the presence of widgets on the homescreen, which means that RIM might have adopted the same approach as Google did with its Android operating system.

For what it's worth, in case the shots are legit, they do show that the next major update for RIM's BlackBerry OS comes with more graphic enhancements than the current OS 5.0. Even if it might resemble a little with already existing solutions, it will certainly offer users enough reasons to rejoice. Especially since the shot shows that the entertainment features of the BlackBerry smartphones will be brought to the front, leaving their business capabilities on the second place.

For the time being, there are no details available on when the new OS might land on the market, nor on the devices that will sport it. There are chances that existing phones like the Storm series will receive an upgrade, but nothing is certain. However, it is possible that the recently leaked BlackBerry 9900 / 9930 Slider will include the software solution, which will indeed make it quite appealing, since the OS will be coupled both with touchscreen features and a physical QWERTY keyboard.
