Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is already known to plan on unveiling a nice range of new handsets as soon as next week, and now we can take a look at what is said to be a rendering of the Nokia N98, a high-end device that the company should push on the market before the end of this year. With a Sidekick-like form factor, and resembling the already available Nokia N97, the device in this photo might prove to be nothing else than the result of an enthusiast, but there are also small chances that it will prove real.

According to Engadget, which spotted the photo on begeek.fr, the rumored Nokia N98 should land on the market with a 4-inch touchscreen display, which might be capacitive, with 32GB of internal storage space, and with HDMI connectivity. The phone is said to be set to make an appearance on the market sometime before the holiday season 2010, and is expected to feature a price tag of €450 ( around $617) when available. According to the guys over at begeek, they managed to confirm the specs on this handset already, but we'll still get this with a grain of salt.

As Engadget notes, there are too many things that just don't add up here, including the Sidekick form factor, or that the handset is said to come as N98, which is not in line with rumors on Nokia moving towards a new naming scheme, which would have the handsets featuring one-letter, one-digit monikers. However, the rumor and specs on the new handset fall in line with some details that emerged on another Nokia device, the high-end N8 model.

In case some of you might have missed the info on this one, we should mention the rumored 12-megapixel photo snapper that it is expected to sport, as well as the 3.5-inch capacitive display, Symbian^3 on board and HDMI connectivity. The Nokia N8 was said to arrive sometime during summer, while expected to be unveiled officially next week during the MWC show in Barcelona. Hopefully, the rumors on these high end devices will pan out, though we won't keep our breath until that happens.
