Realtime Worlds is really busy these days

Realtime Worlds is still highly involved in the development of All Points Bulletin, which is set to debut before the end of the year. The game will depict a constant state of warfare between the law abiding forces and criminals in an open world environment and the detail offered, both in terms of character design and gameplay options, is staggering. But the company seems to be shifting some of its focus on a new title, which should be officially announced in 2010.

Back in 2003, when Realtime Worlds was founded by Dave Jones, one of the creators of GTA, Ian Hetherington from Sony Europe and Tony Harman from Nintendo of America the studio announced the plan to create a videogame that would please “fans of GTA and next-generation racing games will not be disappointed.”

The first game they were talking about is surely APB, which has been described as being a MMO take on the familiar Grand Theft Auto. But the studio has offered no clear details on the second project.

A lot of people simply thought that they planned to create a new Crackdown videogame for the Xbox 360 but that title was revealed as being in development at another outfit, Ruffian Games.

Dave Jones recently talked at the GameHorizon conference, saying the title that they planned to release would be officially presented to the public in 2010.

Apparently, the studio already has the money needed to support the development effort and the recent staff increase, which means that around 250 people work at Realtime Worlds, was in part needed so that the finishing touches could be out on APB as the new project was also worked on. The developer also has another 40 open positions.
