LG Pecan is a new entry-level Android-based smartphone that hasn't been officially introduced by the Korean manufacturer yet. However, the device is now listed on Orange UK's “Coming Soon” page, along with a full spec sheet.

To make things even more 'official' the carrier has also put up its online help site for the LG Pecan, along with the information that the smartphone supports Orange Maps.

There's no mention about the phone's CPU in the specifications list, but there's a high chance that it is the same 600 MHz processor that's powering the LG Optimus One.

LG Pecan runs Android 2.2 Froyo and has a TFT capacitive touchscreen with 262K colors support and 320 x 480 pixels, though no exact size in inches has been unveiled yet.

Even though it's an affordable smartphone, the Pecan is packed with a lot of goodies such as: HSDPA technology, Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as integrated GPS with A-GPS support.

Furthermore, the phone integrates an average 3.0-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities. Unfortunately, there are no additional features included such as autofocus or LED flash.

Other highlights of the LG Pecan include: Bluetooth connectivity, FM radio, 140 MB of internal memory, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), MP3 player and microUSB 2.0.

Those interested in purchasing the LG Pecan should keep an eye on the phone's “Coming Soon” page, as the carrier hasn't disclosed any specific release date so far.

The phone is presented by the carrier as: “A worthy addition to the burgeoning LG family, say hello to the LG Pecan. The smooth curved design combines well with the TFT capacitive touchscreen, providing unrivalled usability when sending texts and emails as well as a high degree of chic. Throw in a 3.15-megapixel camera to capture those iconic moments and use Bluetooth to share the photos with friends.”

No price has been revealed yet, but the smartphone will be available on Pay as you go (PAYG) and it shouldn't cost more than 100 pounds.
