Come February 12, 2012, the crème de la crème in the music industry will gather under the same roof to celebrate the best in 2011: the Grammy Awards will take place. A new report suggests the main “event” of the night will be Adele's appearance.

As her fans from across the world must already know, Adele underwent throat surgery back in November, to fix an issue that had been plaguing her – and forcing her to cancel shows – for most part of the year.

Recovery for the surgery (vocal cord microsurgery, meant to stop recurrent vocal cord hemorrhage) usually takes 1 to 3 months, so Adele could get the greenlight from her doctors to attend.

However, she wants to do more on the big night, Radar Online reports. The six-time Grammy nominee would also like to perform but, for the time being, she can't offer Grammy producers a definite answer on that.

“Adele will be at the Grammys in Los Angeles on February 12 at the Staples Center,” a source close to the singing sensation says for the celebrity e-zine.

Her recovery is going well, having already started to talk more, after her doctors told her it was ok. She continues to take proper care of herself, insiders vouch.

“She's thrilled to be nominated, but it's been a hard time for her because of the surgery. She has begun talking more, with her doctor's permission,” notes the spy.

“Producers of the Grammys would love to have Adele perform, and open the show, but she isn't able to give them an answer yet. She won't be able to give them an answer until the beginning of February, and they completely understand,” the insider claims.

Adele is nominated for six awards at next month's gala, including for the biggest categories: Record of the Year and Song of the Year (both for “Rolling in the Deep”), Album of the Year (“21”), and Best Solo Performance (“Someone Like You”).

Having her perform and open the Grammys would truly be a momentous occasion – so rest assured you'll find out about it here if it's to happen.
