An unnamed relative of Sandy Hook, Newtown shooter Adam Lanza has stepped up to create a context for the seemingly random, gruesome killings on December 14, 2012.

As we also reported at the time, Lanza fatally shot his mother, then took her guns to the elementary school, opening fire and killing 20 children and six adults.

The 20-year-old gunman attended Sandy Hook as a child and incurred bullying and beatings which might have scarred in.

“Adam would come home with bruises all over his body. [...] His mom would ask him what was wrong, and he wouldn’t say anything. He would just sit there,” the source tells NY Daily News.

Nancy Lanza was intent to sue the school for failing to take action in ensuring her son's safety, the relative adds.

“Nancy felt fiercely protective of him. [...] She was convinced the school wasn’t doing enough to protect Adam. It made her irate.

“She was trying to get proof. She wanted to know where the bruises were coming from,” the insider details.

However, no legal action has been filed against the school by late Mrs. Lanza. The source being interviewed claims that Nancy tried to gather evidence of the bullying, but, years after the alleged assault, no proof remains of her inquiry or findings.

“He was a sick boy,” the relative responds when prompted about Lanza's motivation.

The gunman went on to attend Western Connecticut State University for less than a year, before the shooting.

The institution has recently released the photo on his college ID which depicts him as a troubled student with a blank, seemingly confused stare.

A list of items recovered from his home with a search warrant revealed his fascination with guns and an article on another school shooting.
