After defending Willow Smith and offering a free lesson on style, Adam Lambert returns to Twitter to say that we all should be guided by our own rules – and nothing but – when it comes to personal style.

One of the singer’s recent tweets refers to a comment someone made about him, more specifically about his obvious love for makeup.

In response to that person saying no man should ever wear makeup (unless they deliberately set out to gross everybody), Adam replies: I make my own rules!

“! I read a comment recently: ‘eww men aren’t supposed to wear makeup!’ is there some rulebook somewhere I didn’t get a copy of? Ha!” Adam tweets.

He then goes on to say that, even if there were such a rule and rulebook, that’s still not to say he should play by it, let alone live his life in accordance to it.

“I say do whatever the [expletive] makes u happy and expresses who you are! I make my own rules,” Adam responds.

As we also noted on a previous occasions, though he’s not the type to pay heed to what tabloids or haters say, there are a few things that upset him so badly he simply feels the need to address them.

Such was the case with Will Smith’s daughter of who InTouch magazine said in August this year she was copying him (Adam) in the way she dressed, accessorized and even wore her hair.

Though others would have probably not given this a second thought, Adam took to Twitter to point out how originality does not exist in fashion anymore, since everybody draws for inspiration on those before him.

The same goes for himself, he said. However, real art is when someone takes what has already been done before and gives a spin no one saw coming.

“Willow’s a little bad[expletive] lady but I don’t think we have much in common! Lol. C’mon InTouch! This is a stretch,” Adam began by saying, also including a link to the magazine story.

“Didn’t you hear? I’m copying Bill Kaulitz. So... In a round about way, so is she. Right? And he’s copying Rihanna. In truth ladies and gentlemen... No one is copying anyone,” Adam added.

“Following trends is a stylist’s job and part of ours is to appear fashionable. Leave the copy cat bull to the school playground,” the singer further explained.
