Adam Lambert is named celebrity of the week for charity efforts and music success

Just recently, Adam Lambert announced he’d made his second tattoo into a pendant and would give the money made from sales to charity. For that – and for so much more – he’s Hollywood Celebrity of the Week.

HollywoodNews says Adam is the perfect example of how celebrities should be: not only is he talented and successful, but he also remembers to give back by getting involved in various charity projects.

Though this is not the first time that Adam does something to give back to society, his latest endeavor (the customized pendant) has gotten a lot of media attention.

This is not just the regular kind of celebrity-endorsed merchandise either, one may as well add: aside from having Adam’s infinity tattoo on the front, the penchant also has his signature carved in the back.

For many fans, this is the closest they can get to an Adam autograph – and knowing their $95 goes to charity must also weigh pretty heavy in the balance.

“The former American Idol’s single ‘If I Had You’ is close to breaking 5,000 spins on the Top 40 airplay chart and continues to hold steady at number seventeen on the Hot AC Chart,” HollywoodNews says.

“However, the singer is using his new found fame to not only entertain fans, but also help out people in need. His 2nd tattoo of an infinity symbol has been made into a pendant to be sold for charity,” the e-zine notes.

“Lambert is a true artist with a flair for fashion, style, and originality, therefore we are happy to announce that Adam Lambert is the Hollywood Celebrity of the Week,” the same e-zine says.

Speaking of the idea of teaming up with Penny Royal Silver to create the pendant, Adam said the other that this was also his way of giving something back to fans, not just charity.

“My Infinity tattoo really represents what life is like for me at this stage. It’s all about energy and the energy I get from my fans. When I am on stage and the fans feed me their enthusiastic energy, I am able to feed off of it and give it right back to them...” Adam says.

“It’s all about the energy flow. With the money from this pendant going to Donors Choose, it will be a great help to the students in need, so thank you,” the singer adds.

As noted above, the Adam tattoo customized pendant is available for $95 here – the offer is available until October 10, 2010.
