Adam Lambert is in the (good) habit of keeping his millions of fans updated via his Twitter page, which is far more convenient and many times more personal than having to issue a press statement every time he has something to say. In his most recent posts, the singer urges fans not to spend their money on gifts for him while he’s on tour because he simply doesn’t have enough room for them.

The star says he knows for a fact that fans will be buying stuff and then try to give it to him, which, in itself, is a wonderful gesture – but one that ultimately lacks utility. Instead of doing that, they might as well donate the money they were going to spend to Adam’s favorite charity, the one he also supported in the past on at least two different campaigns we told you about. This way, they can both do something that they know will please him and do a good deed.

“60min. Plus ori and allison. I have to be my best every night. If it were much longer I’d wear out too quickly. :)” Adam first tweets, in response to a fan’s question about how long each of his gigs will be. He then returns with a post asking his followers whether they’d not be more interested in donating instead of buying gifts. “Been doing lots of thinking... Last year on the road I received so many thoughtful gifts from all of you. But I very quickly ran out o’ room. Instead of giving me gifts, why not donate 2 donorschoose.org or other charity in my name? U can print a receipt 4 me and personalize it:)” Adam writes.

“What are your thoughts?” he asks his followers. Judging by his next tweet, it would seem that his idea was deemed a good one and fans agreed to donate instead of spending their money on presents. “Yay I’m glad u all like the idea! I love reading your cards and seeing your drawings too, I’m just not going to be able to take them with me. Yes fan club and site is in the works…” Adam says, thus offering fans yet another reason to rejoice.

As we also informed you a few days ago, last time Adam tweeted was to explain why he was not among the American Idol contestants and finalists who appeared on the season finale of the show to perform for Simon Cowell, who celebrated his last appearance as judge. It wasn’t because he did not want to that he was not there, Lambert explained, but because he hadn’t been invited – and even if he had, he could not have attended because rehearsals for the Glam Nation Tour took up most part of his day.
