It still plans on RT tablets though, assuming the next installment arrives soon

While the situation on the notebook market seems to be looking up, the same cannot exactly be said about Acer's tablet business.

Not to say that Acer is struggling, because it isn't. It just isn't doing as well as it may have dreamed, compared to the likes of, say, Samsung.

The Microsoft Windows RT operating system has definitely not been helping. Models with Windows 8 on x86 CPUs are actually more successful.

That is why Acer has said that it sees no value in Widows RT, at least in the form it currently takes.

Should Microsoft finally release the Windows RT 8.1 version, it may revisit the option, but until then, it will not make a Windows RT slate. Which should happen later this year if we're reading the currents right.
