Since there is “no value” in Windows RT, the company is going for the full version

By making Windows RT, Microsoft tried to charm the ARM crowd, but it mostly failed, which left it with the Windows 8 operating system for x86 CPUs. ASUS intends to cash in on it.

There are many Windows 8 tablets on the market, even if they don't sell that well compared to Android on ARM slates.

Most of them have 10.1-inch or larger screens, however.

ASUS has decided to make a few smaller ones, and release them this year (2013).

No details exist, but I surmise that 7-inch and 8-inch form factors are the most likely.

Also, since Windows 8 tablets typically cost $400 / €400 to $500 / €500, the smaller ones should sell for $299 / €299 to $399 / €399, maybe even less.

ASUS's devices will be pitted against Microsoft's 7-inch Surface and Acer's 8.1-inch tablet that appeared briefly on Amazon last week.
