A new, appealing Android-based mobile phone is on its way to the market in the UK, namely the Acer Liquid Metal, which was spotted into the wild only last week, and which comes with a nice looking aluminum back cover.

Leaked into the wild last week, the new device sports pretty impressive features, though no specific info on its arrival on shelves or on the price tag it might feature were available until now.

However, the guys over at Electric Pig say that the new mobile phone is expected to be released on the UK market sometime in late next month.

According to the news site, the info came from an Acer UK spokesperson, who confirmed that the Liquid Metal sports a metal plate on the back and that it is expected to hit shelves in the country sometime at the end of October.

Undoubtedly, this sounds as good news, especially since the previously leaked info on the handset's hardware specifications suggested we're to expect a nice device to land on the market.

The said list would include a 3.6-inch touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 800-pixel resolution, as well as a 800MHz Snapdragon processor, able to deliver performance levels on par with what the 1GHz CPU can offer.

The phone should also include 512MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM, as well as Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi and more, as well as a photo snapper with LED flash and unknown resolution.

Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system is also said to have been included into the mix, though it seems that Acer did not confirm the specs for this handset at the moment.

However, since the mobile phone has been confirmed, there are great chances that its official unveiling won't be too far into the future, and that all the missing details would be unveiled at that time, so stay tuned for more on this.
