Computer maker Acer already came to the market with some appealing handsets running under Google's Android operating system, and it seems that it might soon launch another appealing device in the series, supposedly dubbed Acer Liquid Metal.

According to the news, the new handset should sport a highly-appealing aluminum casing, thus its moniker, while running under Google's Android 2.2 operating system.

All in all, it seems that the upcoming mobile phone might actually be as appealing on the inside as it should be on the outside.

Among the hardware specifications that emerged on it, we can count a 3.6-inch LCD touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 800-pixel resolution, as well as a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7230 800MHz application processor.

As one can see, this is the same chip as the one included in the newly announced T-Mobile G2, and it is expected to offer enhanced battery life due to the lower clock speed, it seems.

The Acer Liquid Metal is also said to land on shelves with 512MB of RAM and a similar ROM, while sporting a memory card slot for additional storage space, though no specific info on this emerged at the moment.

The connectivity options on this one include Bluetooth 3.0, though Wi-Fi and 3G would certainly be present into the mix as well.

The upcoming device is expected to pack a photo snapper of unknown resolution on the back, though LED flash would be there.

The new mobile phone made it into the wild on a Russian site that claims that the handset should sport metal only on the back and edges, while the front will be made out of plastic.

Moreover, the word is that Acer would plan on delivering two color flavors of this device on the market, though specific details did not surface at the moment.

The same applies to the handset's release date and to its price tag, both unknown for the time being.
