One of the newest and also some of the most interesting mobile phones that came to the market with Google's Android operating system on board is the Acer Liquid A1. The handset has just reached the market in the UK, via retailers like Expansys and Clove, and now Android fans can enjoy a video unboxing with the device as well.

Acer's Android-based mobile phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, only that it does not run at 1GHz as the chip inside devices like Toshiba TG01, HTC HD2 or Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10, but is instead clocked at 768Mhz. At the same time, the device boasts 512 MB of ROM and 256 MB of RAM, and users can also increase the available storage space through the microSD memory card slot it comes with.

If you take a look at the video below, which comes from Engadget, you will also be able to see what the retail package of Acer Liquid A1 includes: the charger and manuals, as well as a 2GB SanDisk microSD card and an SD adapter. However, the device in itself will have much more to offer when turned on, such as Acer's custom Spinlets UI skin that has been thrown on top of the Android 1.6 platform the device runs under.

Those of you who are not yet familiar with the device might want to learn that it sports a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that delivers an 800 x 480 pixel resolution, as well as a 5-megapixel camera with auto focus, 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS receiver, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, 3G support, a 1.350 mAh battery, and great messaging and Internet browsing features. Unfortunately, there are no details on whether the Liquid A1 receives an update to the Android 2.0 iteration of the operating system, nor on whether it arrives on the United States market or not.
