Acer has initially said that the Iconia Tab A200 tablet won’t start selling in Europe until February of 2012, but for some lucky Android fans living in the UK the device is already available for purchase thanks to Very.co.uk.

The online-based retailer has listed on its Website both the metallic grey and the red version of Acer’s tablet for £299.00 including VAT, which is the equivalent of 358 EUR or $468 US.

No matter the color version one choses, delivery is said to take place until January 6, 2012.

Acer’s 10.1-incher is powered by an Nvidia previous generation Tegra 2 system-on-a-chip (SoC) device featuring dual processing cores at 1GHz, which is accompanied by 1GB of RAM.

Storage is set at 8GB (a 16GB version of the A200 is also available, this hasn’t been listed so far by the UK retailer), but Acer will also allow its users to install an additional microSD card to extend data storage capacity to 32GB.

All these are packed inside a case that weights 700g (1.54 pounds), while the 10.1-inch display that Acer has used for this tablet has a native resolution of 1280x800 pixels.

As far as software is concerned, the tablet comes pre-installed with the 3.2 version of the Android OS, also known as Honeycomb, which is paired together with a couple of specific Acer technologies such as the company’s control ring interface and its Clear.fi wireless sharing app.

Acer has however promised that in the first part of 2012, will also release an Android 4.0 firmware update for the Iconia Tab A200, in order to make it a more interesting option for its customers.

In France, and probably other countries in the EU, pricing for Acer’s creation will start at 329 EUR ($430 US) for the 8GB model and will reach 349 EUR ($456 US) for the 16GB model.
