The larger screen makes a big difference

Earlier this month, Acer has officially introduced its latest ultraportable computer system, as part of the company's lineup of Aspire One netbooks. The new system has been designed as an alternative to the 10-inch models currently available on the market, consequently expanding the company's offer, which only included the highly-popular 8.9-inch Aspire One. On that note, it now appears that the fellows over at Akihabaranews have just had their hands-on experience with the new netbook, also providing a decent photo gallery of the product.

As a reminder, Acer's latest addition to its netbook portfolio comes built on the same Intel Atom platform, featuring the highly-successful Atom N270 processor, as most of the other netbooks on the market. The system is featured with Intel's integrated graphics solution, also providing users with 1GB of memory and a 160GB hard drive. Upon launch, Acer said that a 3-cell battery, priced at around $425, would become available next month, while a 6-cell battery model, which would cost approximately $450, was slated for March availability. A third version of the netbook, featured with a better 1.66GHz Atom N280 processor, 6-cell battery and integrated 3GB quad-band mobile broadband, is expected to become available in March for around $575.

Now, as you can see in the pictures below, the 10-inch version of Acer's Aspire One netbook appears like an evolved version of the company's 8.9-inch model, released back in early 2008. Both the keyboard and the trackpad appear to provide a better working experience and Akihabaranews claims that they seriously “LOVE” this new, larger screen.

Aside from that, the general perspective is that Acer managed to create a real winner with the new 10-inch Aspire One netbook, which will only be confirmed in the upcoming months, when we will get to see just how popular the new system will become.
