AT&T has announced today the availability of a new service for its AT&T U-verse users in the Charlotte area, with the launch of AT&T U-verse Voice. The new service comes as a next-generation digital voice service that is being delivered over the carrier's U-verse Internet Protocol (IP) network, and is set to provide a new level of communication to residents in Charlotte.

According to the wireless carrier, the new AT&T U-verse Voice service is available for all eligible U-verse TV customers in the area and is set to bring together all of their home phone, wireless, broadband and TV services in a single bill. At the same time, the company also notes that U-verse Voice will offer great integration, as well as enhanced convenience and control.

“The expansion of our IP-based services further demonstrates AT&T’s strong commitment to roll out new technology to Charlotte residents,” said Cynthia Marshall, AT&T North Carolina president. “Our deployment of U-verse Voice is an integral part of the major investment that AT&T has delivered in North Carolina as a result of The Video Service Competition Act enacted by the General Assembly to encourage competition.”

AT&T U-verse Voice comes as a managed IP-based service that offers AT&T users great sound quality and reliability, not to mention a series of calling features that bring together AT&T U-verse TV, broadband and wireless services. Users will be able to enjoy a combined voice mailbox for AT&T U-verse Voice and AT&T wireless messages, an online portal for call settings management, an online voice mailbox, and more.

“AT&T U-verse Voice is one more way we’re making all of our services work together for you and connecting you to your world,” said Alison Hall, vice president and general manager, mobility and consumer products, AT&T Carolinas. “We are thrilled to offer this innovative service to Charlotte customers and make the AT&T U-verse experience better once again. Just like U-verse TV has changed the way people watch television, U-verse Voice will change the way people use their home phone.”
