14 DAY TRIAL // AT&T subscribers that got themselves an HTC Tilt 2 will be happy to find that the Taiwanese manufacturer just released a new ROM update for the smartphone. The update is only available for AT&T Tilt 2 and will not work on other HTC Tilt 2 devices
The software update brings a new version of the custom user interface for this smartphone, HTC Sense, and an important number of bug fixes.
The most important change is the replacement of the TouchFlo 3D UI with the latest HTC Sense UI.
Other important features that have been added include: the ability to format the SD card directly in the device; built-in AT&T WiFi Client; built-in Vlingo voice app, built-in Twitter application; built in IM client; AOL, MSN, Yahoo.
Some of the bug fixes made include: inconsistent Caller ID function Hotfix; TILT 2 Freezes in SMS application Hotfix; Phantom SMS/MMS Count Hotfix.
Of course, the new update brings some improvements and enhancements, such as overall improvement in the devices stability and operation, improved email & messaging experience, as well as improved music and calendar experience.
Before proceeding with the update you will need to determine the software version running on your device. To do that, simply go to Start / Settings / System Folder / Device Information / Software Information.
Validate that the ROM version is 2.10.502.4 if it is not, you will need to update the software on your device.
Before you run the ROM Upgrade Utility (RUU), make sure your USB sync cable is connected to your device and PC to establish a connection with ActiveSync / Windows Mobile Device Center.
If you wish to backup your contacts, calendars, e-mails and tasks, you will also need Outlook or Outlook express installed.
Be sure to remove your storage card prior to running the upgrade. Do not put it back into your phone until after the upgrade process is complete.
Also, ensure that your device has a battery level of at least 50%.
