Wireless carrier AT&T has finally decided to make the HTC Tilt2 available for purchase on its airwaves. The handset, none other than the HTC Touch Pro2, which is already available for purchase in the US via T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon, has been pushed back for about two months so that Microsoft's newly launched Windows Mobile 6.5 will be pre-loaded on it (the other carriers have it available with WM 6.1 on board).

The new HTC Tilt2 is now available for purchase from AT&T for a price of $299.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the carrier and after a $50 mail-in rebate, but it can also be purchased free of contract for $499.99. The handset, as many of you might already know, was put on sale for the carrier's business customers about ten days ago, and it is now enjoying general availability.

The specification list of HTC Tilt2 (Touch Pro2) should be no mystery to anyone, yet those who would like to take a closer look at it should watch the video below, which hit the web via pocketnow. The Tilt2 is in many respects similar to the original Touch Pro2, except maybe for the lack of a front facing camera and a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a big disadvantage, one should agree, and a different keyboard layout. The back color of the Tilt2 is also different, as is the writing on the case.

Other than that, the AT&T version of Touch Pro2 seems to bear the same specs as the original, including a 3.6-inch resistive WVGA touchscreen, a 528MHz Qualcomm CPU, 288MB RAM and 512MB ROM, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, aGPS, Wi-Fi, TV-Out, and more. The HTC Tilt2 can be seen on AT&T's website here, where one can also find additional details on its specs, pricing and availability.
