Wireless carrier AT&T announced on Tuesday the release of another mobile phone aimed at offering users a simple way of connecting to social networking sites, the Motorola Karma QA1. The new messaging device comes in a curvy and compact form factor, and provides an enhanced experience for those who are into texting, blogging, tweeting or talking.

The new mobile phone has been designed to offer effortless all-day, every-day mobile socializing and includes text messaging and instant messaging capabilities, as well as homescreen access to Facebook and MySpace. The Motorola Karma QA1 comes with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and also features a high-resolution display and 3G connectivity, providing users with the possibility to easily stay connected or follow multiple conversations.

“Unique visitors to Facebook from AT&T’s MEdia Net portal grew over 100% in 2008,” said Michael Woodward, vice president, Mobile Phone Portfolio, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “Karma’s one-click access to Facebook and MySpace will resonate with customers who are committed to keeping up with social networking sites on the go.”

Owners of a Motorola Karma will see that it can offer continuous conversations through IM-style texting, all-in-one view of messages and easy navigation and organization options. Moreover, the device also enables users to send instant messages to multiple friends at the same time through popular services like Yahoo! Messenger and Windows Live Messenger. The conversation functionality has been enhanced too, the device coming with CrystalTalk technology providing impressive voice quality and noise reduction.

The support for social networking sites has been enhanced as well; thus, the device allows users to easily update their statuses, share comments or post pictures and videos, which can also be taken with the handset's 2-megapixel photo snapper. Another feature Karma comes with it the JuiceCaster service (pre-loaded), offering immediate connectivity. A 3.5 mm headphone jack can be seen on the features list of the phone.

Also, the new handset includes a GPS receiver delivering support for AT&T Navigator for turn-by-turn directions. In addition, the Motorola Karma can be used to make phone calls in more than 215 countries, to check e-mail or browse the Web in more than 170 countries. The fresh mobile phone will become available for purchase on June 28.
