In March, the upcoming ASUS Zenbook UX303 surfaced for the first time, signaling ASUS is planning to expand its Ultrabook line with a new model.

Last September, ASUS was present in Berlin at IFA 2013 where it pulled out of the bag, the Zenbook UX302, a revamped version of the Zenbook UX301.

Half a year later, the Taiwanese manufacturer is getting ready to unveil its latest ultra-portable effort, the UX303. And according to the folks of Notebook Italia, the new super-light laptop will be officially launched at Computex 2014 and will hit the market in July-August.

We already knew the new Ultrabook would arrive with Intel Haswell and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 840M graphics cards, but now able to bring you more info, in terms of availability dates and the detailed spec list.

UltrabookReview has already been granted a model to play with ahead of the official launch, so they are able to provide us with the first impressions on how the machine functions.

First of all, let’s talk specs. The ASUS Zenbook UX303 draws life from an Intel Core i7-4510U processor fitted with an impressive 12GB of RAM and backed up by 256GB SSD by SanDisk.

The laptop arrives with a sleek 13.3-inch form factor and manages to deliver 3200 x 1800 pixel resolution, which is the same panel we saw the Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 and Samsung ATIV Book 8 Plus arrive with.

The new Zenbook also comes with three USB ports, one HDMI and miniDP card reader plus some connectors included in the box.

In term of design, ASUS has retained the overall look of the UX32VG, complete with the aluminum frame, but everything has been done more subtle here. ASUS hasn't given up on the finish with concentric circles that is so characteristic of the Zenbook line.

But some negative points do pop up in the mini-review. One detail that those thinking of acquiring the new Zenbook should take into consideration is the fact that despite having a crisp, bright display, the device seems to be plagued by the same “yellow spots” the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro is suffering from.

Lenovo issued a BIOS update for the device, but as it turns out this didn't solve the problem, as many of our readers have pointed out. The problem remains unresolved to this day, but ASUS will hopefully have time to fix the underlying problem before the unit hits the shelves.

Anyway, for the time being we leave you with a bunch live pictures detailing the device.
